HTC's "Zeta" rumored to be the most powerful quad-core Android handset!

Wow! After last week’s news of a rumored 4.7-inch quad-core HTC Edge phone, Engadget announces an even more powerful HTC handset?! HTC’s Zeta will pack an insane 2.5GHz quad-core processor. How many of you even have quad-core computers clocked that high? I don’t.

The image above is a render that Engadget received that illustrates the Zeta will have a 4.5-inch 1280×720 display, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 8-megapixel camera with dual LED flash (1080p HD video recording), 1.3-megapixel front cam and of course the newest version of Android — 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

HTC’s never been a company to shy away from making smartphones that are on the larger side (Thunderbolt and Rezound), so it seems entirely plausible that a phone that measures 4.32 x 2.4 x 0.39 inches might be on its way.

As with all large-screened smartphones, and even more so for ones that will have quad-core and 4G, battery life is critical. The Zeta is said to come with a 1,830mAh battery, which seems hefty on paper, but could easily get drained quickly with such a powerful processor. Also, the phone won’t always need to fire up at 2.5GHz, but only when the applications require it to, so that should also help conserve a little power.

We’ll just have to wait this one out. The HTC Zeta could be real or it could be fake. It can even just be a mythical product render created to throw off competitors. This is the tech world after all.
